Artist's Description
This is a landscape watercolor painting that I did from a photograph I took while visiting a friend in Butler, PA of a beautiful lake surrounded by trees whose leaves were beginning to turn the fiery colors of Autumn. It was so serene and lovely there. We were hoping to paint �en plein air� (i.e. on location there). However the day I took the photo, it was raining pretty steadily so was not able to paint then and there. At least I got some pretty good photos to paint from.
About Arlene Holtz
Color, movement, emotion, and energy is what inspires me and what emerges in my art. I paint landscapes, still lifes, and florals, but figures and portraiture are the most fascinating to me. Lately I have been exploring the use of non-traditional colors to create portraits that are alive and unique. I have also begun to experiment with and paint abstracts, and am loving the freedom in just playing with color, form, and emotions. Exploration and new ideas get my juices flowing and drive me creatively. My passion is to create visual works of art in my studio that come from the heart and from my connection to Spirit.
